If there's one thing I miss most about my life before my job change almost three years ago, it's that I had more time to write. My schedule as it currently stands hasn't allowed me to do much writing in three years. Well, that and that evil bitch muse lovely muse of mine taking an extended vacation.

Here's my day, in a nutshell:

3:15 am--wake up and go to gym.
4:45 am--get home from gym, get on computer to earn Swagbucks. (I earn about $50 a month by doing a lot of nothing on Swagbucks. I'm using that as my spending money in New York, but normally this money is what I use to fund my ebook purchases and Candy Crush Saga addiction.)
5:40 am--shower.
6 am--breakfast, catch up on websites I frequent.
6:30 am--get ready for work.
7:30 am--leave for work.
8am-5pm--stuck at work.
5:30 pm--home from work, eating supper.
6 pm--back to gym for evening workout.
7 pm--home, where I try to work on cross-stitch project from hell.
8:30 pm or thereabouts--crash into bed, fall asleep.

No room for writing.

But I've decided to make a change. I'm about to give up on the cross-stitch project since I'm never going to get it done. That will free up about an hour and a half for writing. Plus, I'm finally ready to come clean with my dad about the fact that I've owned Ariel for about three years. (Yes, I recognize that there are two things about that sentence which are pathetic--one, that I live at home. Two, that I'm a grown woman who's scared of her father.) Telling my dad about Ariel means I'll be able to write on the weekends.

Best of all--I actually have motivation to write! I've had an idea for a LuRe story for a while now--since not long after I finished "Waiting for You," in fact. I just never got around to writing more than a bit here and there. It's not entirely plotted, but I've made headway and gotten off to a good start.

So watch this space--there may be some new LuRe in the future...

In other Dee-related news, I'm eating better and have gotten within six pounds of my goal weight. I'm close to having read 100 books this year, I've got my flight booked to New York in September (and a ticket to a Yankees-Red Sox game), and I still haven't lost my job or killed anyone who works for me. So yay!

I haven't come close to writing 500 words a day, posting daily here, or doing much more than dipping my toes into the dating pool by signing up for a Match.com account. Frankly, given that they've sent me about fifty "possibles" and I haven't found one I'm attracted to who's anywhere near where I live, I don't think I'm going to find Mr. Right going this route. Maybe I'm being too picky. So boo.

But best of all is that Little Sister is having a baby!! She's due at the end of August. I didn't say anything before, but Little Sister and Adorable Brother-in-Law had been told right before Christmas they were going to have a lot of trouble getting pregnant. Turned out, all that needed to happen was for them to stop thinking it couldn't happen the old-fashioned way. She got pregnant around the time the doctors were telling them they'd have to go the in vitro route. Idiot doctors. (Maybe they went to Oakdale U???)

So anyway, pretty soon Perfect Little Niece is going to be here and I can't wait!!
